October see's FMP putting on two gigs at Barrow's Cross Bar, and both feature old favorites making a return to the local scene.
First up is the FMP/Cumbrio showcase event on Friday the 14th of October, headlined by The Prophets, who need little introduction to anyone with an interest in local music, as they’ve been around for many years since the first incarnation of the band appeared in the mid nineties (as 4721 Archer). Expect to hear a set of original, melodic tunes.
Also at this gig will be Kendal based 'Nothing Less' who provide a rap metal flavour to the proceedings, 'Amber' who have played at the Duke a couple of times under the name 'death retro' and finally 'The Indigo Skins' hailing form Carlisle. The music starts at 8 and entry will be £3 on the door.
The second gig of the month happens on Saturday the 29th of October, and see's the return of Les 'Fruitbat' Carter and his band 'Abdoujaparov' under the guise of 'IDOU'. This version of the band see's them taking their entire back catalogue and playing with the format somewhat. Expect it to be loud and fast, but more importantly very pleasing to the ears!
After the disappointment of having to pull out of the Benstock festival in July, Abdou are looking to return triumphantly to the scene of their "best gig of the year".
Support for this gig will be provided by Something Stupid, Vital Signs and Sour Mash. Bands kick off at 8 and entry will be £3 on the door.
